First and foremost, make sure your door is securely shut. If it is, does your dishwasher have an on/off switch located near it? Also, be sure to check your breaker first. If your dishwasher still will not turn on, the best thing to do is have a certified technician come out and assess the appliance and provide a proper diagnosis.

Try using a rinse aid in addition to your dishwasher soap. If this does not clear the issue, give us a call.

Sometimes it can be as simple as food in your filter causing the awful smell.  We also recommend using Affresh once per month to help battle the odor. If there is still an odor, give us a call.

Stop the current load and turn off the water supply to the dishwasher under the sink. Also note where the water is leaking from. Be sure to give us a call to have a certified technician come and assess the appliance.

Loading a dishwasher may seem like common sense, but sometimes, it helps to have a little extra professional insight on how to load ‘em up.

Guinco’s blog takes a deep dive into how to properly load a dishwasher.

You load your dishwasher properly, but we all can’t account for what happens once you hit ‘Start.’ So, you let your dishwasher run its cycle and after it’s complete, you open your dishwasher door only to be blown back by a powerful burning smell. The recommended top shelf placement for plastic cooking utensils is correct, but sometimes items shift (just like they warn you about with the overhead bins on airplanes). This time, it did. Your plastic spatula made it all the way through the top rack and then the bottom, landing on your heating element at the bottom of the dishwasher. One of the most common complaints we receive in regards to dishwasher trouble involves a dishwasher that’s flooding, or won’t drain after a cycle.

At Guinco, we want to do everything we can to stop that from happening, so here are four simple, at-home tips you can use to try to restore your dishwasher to working order. Read more about it in our Suffering from Dishwasher Drain Pain blog.

We get complaints concerning dishwashers all the time. Whether it’s not cleaning or not drying, it can be incredibly stressful for people when the inability to clean dishes brings a kitchen to a screeching halt! However, more often than not, there isn’t anything wrong with the machine itself….  the problem is usually the soap.
