We had the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in January and February. Well, this month we have another big event coming up. In addition to fun, food, and drinks, The Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival is a chance to promote the local chefs in the Fort Worth area, raise funds for grants and scholarships, educate the average consumer about some of the wonders of the culinary arts, and offer internship opportunities to those interested in following a career in public relations or marketing. But, for those of us who fall into the average consumer category, we’re looking forward to some really great food, and maybe a few flavorful beverages. Sit back and relax, as we give you a little preview of what to expect at the Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival, March 31 – April 3, in Sundance Square.
Events
Let’s talk about some of the exciting events – as well as the food and drink – you can anticipate at the festival. There’s much more to experience than just the local restaurants bringing in samples of tasty food. You can also find local chefs preparing some of their specialities, fresh foods brought in by area farmers, and much more.
What better way to kick off this festival than with some amazing Texas BBQ? March 31, guests will get the opportunity to enjoy some succulent BBQ from 15 of the top pit-masters in the state. Plus, there will be some well-paired beverages for you to sip on, and celebrity judges to pick this year’s best eats. This event runs March 31, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., so bring your appetite.
The theme of this year’s festival is “Taste The New Texas,” so you can expect some bold food and drink choices. North Texas chefs, restaurateurs, and crafters will be putting their own unique spin on some classic Texas favorites. Pair these delectable food choices with more than 100 wines, craft beers, and spirits from all over the globe. Enjoy this event April 1, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
#latenight Desserts After Dark
What a great way to end the week. Savor these hand-crafted libations, heavenly desserts, and have fun dancing the night away. Guests can look forward to cocktails created with Firestone & Robertson’s TX Blended Whiskey, 12 pastry chefs, and 12 mixologists. If Whiskey isn’t your thing, there will be plenty of beers and wines to choose from. Additionally, patrons will hear the musical stylings of DJ Jason Esquire. As the name implies, this event takes place a bit later, April 1, from 9 p.m. – midnight.
Rise + Dine: A Brunch Inspired Tasting
For those who participated the night before in the #latenight event, the 11 a.m. start time to Rise + Dine gives participants a chance to sleep in and recuperate on April 2. They can then expect to find some incredible brunch options to start their Saturday, brought to you by some of the best restaurants in the area. Eggs Benedict, omelets, migas, huevos rancheros, biscuits and gravy, and breakfast tacos await your tastebuds. Like every other event, there will be plenty of beverages for you to choose from, including: craft beer, wines, spirits, and our two personal favorites, a mimosa bar and a custom bloody mary bar. Experience this bountiful brunch April 2, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Visitors can expect some real American classics here. It doesn’t get much better than this trio. Patrons can anticipate 11 chefs firing up their best sliders for you and yours. Combine those with craft beer and blues, and you’ve got yourself an excellent Saturday lineup! April 2, 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Family Sunday Funday – Picnic at Panther Island
Until next year, we say goodbye to this terrific festival with a fun-for-the-whole-family event. For your enjoyment, there will be several food trucks and chefs cooking up some treats the whole family is sure to love. In addition to the adult beverages that will be featured, there will also be kid-friendly drinks, April 3, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Guests will need to purchase tickets for each event they plan to attend, with each having its own price – which can be found at Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival’s website. So, bring your appetite for food, drink, and fun that will be almost impossible to match.
