Today is your laundry day and you’ve come across a problem. Your dryer won’t turn on which is really inconvenient as it was just working last week. You don’t have lines or pins on hand to dry outside, so you’re really backed into the corner on this one. Let’s take a look at what could be the issue before you pick up the line to call in the professionals.
- Door isn’t closed completely – It may be an obvious try, but give it a go without slamming the door. If it still isn’t starting, let’s move to bullet #2.
- The “Push to Start” button wasn’t held long enough or pushed hard enough – Make sure you’re pushing your “start” button firmly and for a couple of seconds. Hopefully you’ve got your dryer going, if not, carry on to #3.
- Your settings are not switched to “on” – Simple yet effective. Double check that all of your settings are on the “on” option.
- Blown fuse or circuit breaker has tripped – Electric dryers utilize two breakers. We suggest replacing both breakers and restarting the circuit breaker. If that doesn’t do it, you’ll need to call in an electrician.
- Incorrect power supply – Electric dryers require a 240-volt power supply. It’s best to consult with an electrician on this one.
